POSITION OPENING:            Hospital Liaison

This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, providing mental health therapy to severely and persistently mentally ill adults. Develop individual treatment plans based on mental health needs and consumers' goals and identified strengths.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:  This clinical position provides mental health assessments and intakes for seriously and persistently mentally ill adults for outpatient counseling and case management services.  The primary function is to serve as hospital liaison, transitioning mental health clients to outpatient services.  Assessments are done at Western State Hospital, Pierce County Evaluation & Treatment Center, Secure Detox, Crisis Triage, and local hospitals.  Refers assessed clients to the most appropriate resources, both internal and external to Greater Lakes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:           Requires a masters degree and 2 years relevant experience or a bachelors degree and 4 years relevant experience.  Must have excellent knowledge of mental health diagnoses (DSM IV diagnostic criteria) and experience working with seriously and persistently mentally ill adults, providing assessments/intakes.  Requires thorough knowledge of community resources, excellent clinical interviewing skills and the ability to provide efficient and effective assessments.  Requires flexibility, excellent interpersonal, writing and organizational skills.  Requires Washington State Counselor Registration, Washington State driver's license, reliable personal auto, good driving record and private auto insurance.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:        Prefer Mental Health Professionals (MA + 2 years experience), experience working with the publicly-funded mental health system and WA State Access to Care Criteria for adults.

STARTING PAY RANGE:       $17.10 – $22.33/hour to START depending on qualifications.
