NOTICE OF POSITION OPENING

 

POSITION TITLE:  Cook - Food Service Coordinator, at Seeley Lake Lodge

   Regular Full Time, Tuesday-Saturday, 10:30 am – 6:30 pm

 

REPORTS TO:  Asst Director of Residential Services

 

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:  Coordinate and perform overall operation of food services at residential facility for adults with severe and persistent mental illness. This includes coordinating and implementing food service program, purchasing all food and supplies, preparing meals, training Residents and possibly Staff who may assist in food service functions.  Responsible for equipping, cleaning and maintaining kitchen and dining room areas and following dietitian-developed menus that meet requirements as established by the State of Washington.

  1. Prepare and serve quality meals for Residents at scheduled times. 
  2. Coordinate food preparation activities and timing with Residential clinical team. 
  3. Maintain appropriate quality and quantity of food, supplies and equipment. 
  4. Create and maintain effective vendor relationships. 
  5. Maintain kitchen and dining room sanitation in accordance with WAC 248-84. 
  6. Provide appropriate Resident training and involvement in food preparation.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Requires a High School Diploma and a minimum of two years institutional cooking experience and good interpersonal communication skills.  Requires Food Handler’s training and permit, current CPR, First Aid, and TB test.  Must have WA State Counselor Registration, WA State Driver’s License, good driving record, and ability to drive agency van.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  Prefer formal training in food service operations.  Prefer experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.

 

SALARY RANGE:  $13.46 to $15.97 to start, depending on qualifications.
